DragonVenture Chairman, Bobby Chao, Only U.S. - based VC Invited to Speak at China VC Forum

Chengdu, Sichuang Province, China July 4, 2001 - DragonVenture Chairman, Bobby Chao was invited as the sole U.S. - based VC among 10 panelists to the China-Western VC Forum held at the posh California Garden Hotel in Chengdu. Speaking about DragonVenture’s entrepreneur project selection process and its funds allocation, Chao was among the list of panelists that primarily included China-based entrepreneurs, and banking and securities representatives from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

In an outreach effort to establish the city as a high tech hub in western China, officials from Chengdu, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the China government hosted the forum, whose audience included entrepreneurs, media and investment professionals.
