James Fan

James is currently the principal technical architect for SBC Communications. He is a 14-year veteran in the telecommunication equipment and service sector, having spent six years with Nortel Networks Corporation as Chief Designer of the Switching Development Group. James has extensive experience in real-time system development, system engineering and planning, and enterprise system architecture design. James has been instrumental in helping lead a US telecommunication service giant launch its broadband infrastructure in the areas of cable TV and high speed Internet service. James also serves as the editor-in-chief of a niche monthly newsletter, Investment Digest Network (IDN). IDN covers 14 high tech sectors (including telecommunication service and equipment, Internet, and broadband) that include over 800 publicly traded companies. James also helps many venture capital firms analyze telecommunication-related as well as high technology startups. He received his M.S. in Architectural Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kansas.





EDA and Fabless IC Design
Paul Huang

Paul has 25 years of experience in the electronic design automation software, IC design and telecommunications industries. He is chairman of Forte Media, Inc., a company that offers design solutions incorporating DSP, communication software, IC chip design, multi-OS driver implementation and production services. He is also currently chairman of Novas System, a publicly held EDA company in Taiwan. In 1983 Paul helped co-found Cadence Design Systems, which under his leadership, went IPO in 1987. In 1989 he founded PIE Design Systems, which subsequently merged with Quickturn Design Systems. Paul is frequently invited as a visiting scholar and guest speaker at universities in China, Taiwan and the United States, and has published numerous technical papers in journals and trade magazines. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan.

David E. Gonzalez

David has been a software designer and developer for the past 14 years, the last 10 of which have been spent with Microsoft Corporation. David was instrumental in launching Microsoft into the online real estate market with HomeAdvisor Technologies, Inc., a company focused on business-to-consumer websites and business-to-business services for real estate and mortgage professionals. He is primarily a technologist, holding six patents for his efforts ranging from automatic repairing of applications in Windows 2000, to an algorithm for matching potential borrowers with eligible and qualified loan products for HomeAdvisor. Along with his technology expertise and experience, David also brings a broad understanding of business models, marketing and contractual negotiations. David holds undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Physics from the University of Puget Sound and a Masters in Engineering and Applied Physics from Cornell University.

Charles Law

Charles is a reputable and well-recognized Chinese-American attorney in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is the managing partner and co-founder of Law & Partners, which merged with King & Wood in January 2001. The firm focuses on U.S. and international business law, international investment, international litigation, corporate and securities law, venture capital finance and private placement, and China and immigration related law. Charles travels frequently to China and Taiwan and is often invited to be a guest speaker at various seminars and conferences. Charles is active in the local Chinese community and serves as Executive Vice President and Director of the U.S.-China Economic Business Association and is the director of NBI (a prominent Chinese-American computer association). Charles earned his LL.M. degree in International Comparative Law from Southern Methodist University School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree in Law from Soochow University in Taiwan.

C. H. Hsueh

C.H. has extensive financing and corporate affairs expertise. He serves on the board of directors of several companies including CTT Inc., a microwave component business, and Golden Security Bank Corporation. As chairman of J.P. Original Corporation, a Los Angeles-based investment company focused on distribution and channel marketing, C.H. has been in the import-export business for computer peripherals and general merchandise for 15 years. His company covers sourcing and marketing in Greater China, North and South America, and Europe. C.H. has been an experienced Southern California angel investor for a number of years and is a DragonVenture investor. He is a graduate of the National Chung Hsing University Business School in Taipei, Taiwan and holds a Master degree in Accounting/Business from Utah State University.

Stanley W. Tucker

Stanley W. Tucker has more than 19 years of diversified business experience with a strong emphasis on lending, venture capital investing, and the development of socially or economically disadvantaged small businesses. Mr. Tucker is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Meridian Management Group, Inc., which was founded in 1995. From 1982 to 1995, Mr. Tucker has been the Executive Director of the Maryland Small business Development Financing Authority (MSBDFA), a self-sufficient state agency that assists socially or economically disadvantaged businesses. Under his leadership, MSBDFA has added three financing programs (including the state's first equity program). This has resulted in MSBDFA being recognized as a national model for minority business development and financing. Since 1980, MSBDFA has provided approximately $100 million in financing to 400 small businesses, including such well-known companies as Maxima Corporation. Mr. Tucker joined MSBDFA in 1981 as Deputy Director.

From 1980 to 1981, Mr. Tucker served as vice president of the Park Heights Development Corporation (PHDC), a community-based economic development agency located in one of Baltimore's highest crime and unemployment areas. At PHDC he raised funding of $1.2 million for the first stage development of a community industrial park and raised additional funding for a community business loan fund which he oversaw. Prior to joining PHDC, Mr. Tucker was a credit analyst for Equitable Trust Company of Baltimore in 1979. He is a sought-after speaker and consultant nationwide on minority business development. His present civic responsibilities include: Chairman of the Golden Bears Association, Inc.; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Investment Companies; Warner Press, H. John Heinz, III School (Carnegie—Mellon University), Sojoumer—Douglas College, and the Morgan State University Foundation.

Mr. Tucker received his B.S. from Morgan State University and his M.S. from Carnegie—Mellon University.

Jim Su

Jim is President and CEO of EE Solutions, Inc. in Hsin-Chu, Taiwan. He was previously director and senior manager for Cadence Taiwan, and Cadence Design Systems in San Jose, California. Jim also serves as board director for Skylan Communications and is an advisor for PerfiSANs Networks, Inc. in Toronto, Canada. He earned his MSEE from the University of Santa Clara, his MBA from San Jose State University, and his BS from National Chao Tung University in Hsin-Chu, Taiwan.

Luyu Wang

Luyu is the Vice President of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park in Beijing, the largest incubation center in China with over 6,000 incubatees. Luyu is also a full professor with the Department of Physics, Xinjiang University, China. He received his PhD and MS in theoretical physics from Lanzhou University, China, and his BS in physics from Xinjiang University, China.

Wen-Cheng Pai

Wen-Cheng Pai is founder and CEO of the Polaris Securities Group in Taiwan. Polaris is the No. 1 online broker in Taiwan and Wen-Cheng was instrumental in helping the company achieve that status. Wen-Cheng's entrepreneurial spirit began in 1988 when he founded Polaris Securities with NT$200 million. Polaris's current total market capital now stands at more than NT$10 billion. As a philanthropist, Wen-Cheng named a non-profit organization after his mother. The organization has been active in helping the needy and awarding scholarships to academically outstanding students from underprivileged families. In recent years, Wen-Cheng has also diversified his business operations by branching into investment consulting, futures, mutual funds, wireless data and content distribution, and the Internet.

Michael Yahng

Michael is currently the Managing Director for Trinergy Finance Co., Ltd. Michael spent 21 years with BankBoston in several executive and senior management positions, domestically as well as in London and Hong Kong. He was previously Division Executive for BankBoston's Transportation Lending Division and was also in charge of the High Tech New Ventures lending and investment activities for several years. Most recently Michael served as Deputy Regional Manager for Asia from 1993-97. Michael has an undergraduate degree from Yale University and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
