Polaris Announces First Chinese Language International Online Brokerage Capability in Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan, R.O.C. August 28, 2001

Polaris Security Group, Taiwan’s No. 1 online securities broker in Taiwan, today announced the introduction of the country’s first Chinese language online multi-country stock exchange brokerage system. The system provides access to 11 exchanges in six countries through a single account.

“We hope to sign 500 customers in the first month with 20 thousand transactions,?said Polaris President Wen-Cheng Pai.

Before the newly created platform the cost of purchasing overseas stocks averaged $100 per transaction through an overseas broker and different exchanges could only be accessed through different accounts. Now the fees will range from $40-$50 per transaction and can be conducted through one account. Polaris is actively talking to foreign investors and ventures, and is seeking strategic alliances.
